Inaugural Marriot Hotels Charity Golf Challenge At Mount Juliet Estate Raises €31,560

The General Managers of the Marriot Hotels Ireland handed over a cheque for €31,560 to LauraLynn, Ireland’s Children’s Hospice. The funds were raised at Mount Juliet Estate, a Marriot Autograph Hotel, for the inaugural Marriot Charity Golf Challenge. Teams from Marriot Hotels and their generous collaborators and suppliers nationwide, as all enjoyed a day of great rivalry at the enjoyable and competitive charity golfing tournament.

The Mount Juliet Estate Director of Golf, PGA Fellow Matt Sandercock created a wonderful itinerary of golfing and dining, culminating in a fund-raising raffle with a selection of coveted prizes for winners.

An early start meant competitors were treated to a ‘Grab and Go’ breakfast at Jack’s Bar in the Mount Juliet Golf Clubhouse before the shotgun start for the four-person teams. Prizes were for 1st and 2nd place teams, ‘Nearest to the Pin 14th Hole’, ‘Longest Drive 18th Hole’, and the hugely enjoyable ‘Beat the Pro challenge’ with the Mount Juliet PGA Pro, Alan Cotter.

Post tournament, all competitors enjoyed a drinks reception in The Saddle Bar, preceding a delicious lunch cooked by the award-winning Mount Juliet Estate Executive Chef Andy Nolan. Prize-giving and speeches followed, and to end the event, the fund-raising raffle was held with generous donations by all participating teams.
