Tifco Hotel Group is delighted to announce the appointment of Stephan Ernest as General Manager of Ireland’s first Travelodge Plus hotel, the new Travelodge Plus Dublin City Centre, opening in Dublin 2 this January

A Dutch native, Stephan commenced his hospitality studies with a Hotel & Catering Degree at Zadkine Hospitality Management in Rotterdam, finishing his Bachelor’s Degree in International Hospitality Management in Breda six years later, in 2006.

Moving to Dublin directly after graduating, Stephan started his professional career as a Junior Duty Manager in The Burlington Hotel, spending two years working there, assisting in various departments and learning about daily operations across all areas.

In 2008 Stephan joined Tifco Hotel Group, initially in Crowne Plaza Hotel and Holiday Inn Express Dublin Airport as Assistant Conference & Banqueting Manager, then promoted to the position of Restaurant Manager and shortly thereafter to the role of Conference & Banqueting Manager.

Stephan left Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express Dublin Airport in 2019 as Deputy General Manager to successfully open The Hendrick Smithfield where he was General Manager from 2019 until recently. Stephan joins Travelodge Plus Dublin City Centre as General Manager, looking forward to opening the city’s single biggest accommodation provider for the value-seeking customer, offering quality and comfort at affordable prices.

Travelodge Plus Dublin City Centre opens on the corner of Moss Street and Townsend Street in Dublin 2, an extremely central location, steps from the Convention Centre and the IFSC and with ease of access to all local business districts, Silicon Docks, the tech and financial hubs and Dublin Port.
