Ventola shines a light on Maples Lanes rebuild

Wednesday, March 31, 2021.

A leading UK lighting firm has been called upon to help with the rebuild of an iconic bowling center in Waterloo, Iowa.

And the brand’s expertise has already seen it deliver approximately 10,000 sq. ft. of VAvR LED lighting in just one week.

Ventola Projects, which can count Las Vegas CasinosUS Air Force Bases and Qatari Royal Palaces to its name, has been contracted in to kit out Maple Lanes Bowling Centre, which was devastated by arsonists last year.

With reopening of the facility expected in late Spring, Ventola has already installed over 60% of its VAvR LED lighting for the project, which will deliver general white to colour changing mood lighting effects through the facility.

“It’s been an honour to help out Maple Lanes,” said Ventola Projects owner Mick Ventola.

“This is somewhere that has been open for more than 60 years and a cherished place of entertainment for so many generations, so what we’re really doing is helping not only rebuild a bowling center, but also a vital part of the local community.

“It’s been a complete restoration more or less from start to finish. Of course, there will be elements that customers recognise upon reopening but what Maple Lanes is really hoping to do is be bigger and better come late spring time. We can’t wait.”

Ventola’s work has set the scene for leading bowling manufacturer QubicaAMF to proceed with the installation of its renowned Tenpin bowling equipment, as the new look Maple Lanes begins to take shape.

That will include Ventola’s trademarked VAvR LED operating system, which is expected to enhance a whole host of new features at the renovated facility, including duckpin lanes, full size bowling, a bigger bar and 2 vestibule entrance areas.

In total, Ventola’s lighting, carried out by its US installation team Kool Amusements, is expected to kit out around 14,000 sq. ft. of the iconic bowling center, which was the first project to be sealed by the companies new US Director of Operations, Tony Tallarico.

“Tony has been instrumental here, with local knowledge helping to understand just how much history is behind Maple Lanes and the task ahead.

“I’m sure his 25 year plus experience in the industry will help propel the business even further forward in the near future.”

The Iowa project for Ventola coincides with the launch of a new VAvR LED Display panel from the business – a computer-controlled promotional display that can help Family Entertainment Centers showcase their offerings after months of forced COVID-19 closures.

And with US and overseas projects now accounting for over 70% of work for the UK based firm, the brand’s reputation shows no signs of slowing down.
