Tourism Ireland in Great Britain has teamed up with ‘Great British Chefs’ and The Telegraph, in a new campaign to showcase our superb food scene and to inspire potential holidaymakers to choose the island of Ireland.
‘Great British Chefs’ (GBC) is a popular online food platform which reaches an audience of food lovers who’re interested in restaurants, local produce, food experiences and travel.
The promotion includes three online videos presented by highly regarded British chef Richard Bainbridge and Irish chef and restaurateur Robin Gill.
Viewers will follow the chefs as they visit Galway, Clare, Cork and Belfast, meeting local producers and experiencing our warm hospitality and excellent food – all set against the background of our beautiful landscapes. Click here to view a trailer for the series.

The videos will be shared across the ‘Great British Chefs’ website, YouTube and social channels, as well as on Tourism Ireland’s social and digital channels. The partnership also includes online articles and newsletters to the GBC database. In addition, content and articles will feature on the website and digital channels of The Telegraph. Overall, the campaign will reach more than 8 million people.
With over 70% of potential visitors considering food when choosing a holiday destination, Tourism Ireland is highlighting the exceptional food and drink available right across the island of Ireland.
Julie Wakley, Tourism Ireland’s Head of Great Britain, said:
“Food is one of the most exciting ways to experience a destination and the island of Ireland certainly has a wonderful story to tell. Our partnership with ‘Great British Chefs’ and ‘The Telegraph’ will highlight Ireland as a ‘must visit’ destination for foodies.
Chefs Richard Bainbridge and Dublin native Robin Gill will whet viewers’ appetites as they visit Galway, Clare, Cork and Belfast, meeting some of the producers and restaurateurs who are helping to shape our culinary reputation. We’re excited for them to shine a spotlight on our exceptional seafood, fine dining and farm-to-fork produce.”
