Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort is pleased to announce that it has won ‘Golf Resort of The Year’ at the 2023 Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association (IGTOA) Conference and Gala Golf Awards, positioning the five-star resort as the leading Irish hotel and golf destination.

The prestigious award, presented by both IGTOA Member, Mary Hartnett of Scales Golf and Travel and IGTOA Sponsor, Alex McEvoy of Wildan Sports, was accepted by Aaron Byrne, Golf Sales Manager at Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort at the annual ceremony which this year was held in the Slieve Donard Hotel in Co. Down.

Speaking on receipt of the award, Aaron Byrne, Golf Sales Manager at Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort, said: “On behalf of Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort, we are delighted to be awarded ‘Golf Resort of the year’ by the IGTOA. It has been a busy year for us at the resort, having launched our newly refurbished golf course after 16-months of upgrades. This prestigious award now cements Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort as the number one golf resort in Ireland.”

The resort’s famed county Wicklow, newly ‘reimagined’ golf course reopened in May of this year, having undergone extensive upgrades led by course designer Peter McEvoy OBE following a multi-million euro investment, reclaiming its place as one of the top golf destinations in Europe.

Marcus Doyle, Director of Golf at Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort, added: “We are thrilled to be recognised as the leading golf resort in Ireland, following a significant investment and extensive upgrades to our golf course earlier this year and hosting our first professional event at the new course in August. This is just the beginning for Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort, with ambitious plans for the future and we are very excited for all that is to come.”

Located in County Wicklow, Ireland, Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort offers a serene and upscale retreat surrounded by stunning natural landscapes. The resort, which was originally built in the 16th century as Woodstock House, has a rich history that includes hosting famous musicians and being the site of four Irish Opens. Having been awarded with IGTOA 2023 ‘Golf Resort of The Year’ following its recent renovations, the golf course at Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort is poised to reclaim its place as one of the top golf destinations in Europe.
