Just in time for the summer, there’s yet another great reason to visit the iconic Dun Laoghaire Pier – the new Cafollas on the Pier, serving the best coffee, ice cream, sandwiches, treats, nibbles and more. There’s even Puppachinos and drinking water for your furry friend! Open 7 days, the summer opening hours are 8am to 9pm. So whether you fancy a dawn or dusk walk on the pier, treat yourself, or simply call by any time, indulge and lounge.

Cafollas on the Pier is where the best Italian ice cream meets the best Irish artisan coffee and tea. Premium soft serve ice cream is served as Sundaes, Waffle Baskets, Trays, Cones, Tubs and more, in flavours such as Bueno Delux, Oreo Nutella, Biscoff Lotus Crunch and Rocky Road, elevated with your choice from a range of 17 delicious toppings, 6 syrups and 7 sauces. Endless combinations to create and enjoy, or go all out and get a brownie, cookie, muffin or waffle tray. Priced from €2.60 for a plain cone, to €5.80 for Sundaes etc. There’s also the option of a Vegan Choc Chip Ice Cream Sandwich for €5.

Two Fifty Square speciality coffee is served Barista style from an Americano for €3 to a Cortado for €3.20, with teas being sourced from Wall & Keogh. From the menu of Special Drinks, there’s hot and iced options, such as the Aero Mint Hot Chocolate or the Iced Unicorn – a confection of iced strawberry milk, unicorn syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles and a unicorn flake! Sip solo, or opt for a pastry, tartlet, cake, doughnut, biscuit or slice! There’s weekly artisan sandwich specials such as The Chicken Chorizo with chipotle chicken, Spanish chorizo, roasted plum tomatoes, avocado and lime aioli and peppery rocket on sourdough.

At the helm is Paolo Cafolla of the Cafolla family, who, over the last century in Dublin have become synonymous with hospitality, with the Cafolla ice cream parlours on O’Connell Street welcoming generations of Dubliners. Cafollas on the Pier will have a strong emphasis on sustainability. All products are sourced ethically, and will be recyclable or compostable, with over 95% waste being recycled too. Paolo is already on the lookout for new locations, whether in the city or on the coast.
