Irish tourism businesses were selling Ireland to a group of 20 international tour operators, at a Fáilte Ireland workshop, held in The Radisson Blu Hotel Sligo, in association with Tourism Ireland.

A total of 55 Irish tourism businesses were pitching directly to a group of influential global inbound tour operators, representing markets in Europe, USA and Asia, with a view to including Ireland in their itineraries for 2027 and beyond. These operators who provide a vital distribution channel worldwide also enjoyed bespoke tours during their stay, ensuring they experience first-hand what Ireland has to offer their customers.

This opportunity to showcase the diversity of the Irish tourism product and appear on international itineraries is important for tourism and hospitality businesses, communities, and destination Ireland. International buyers also experienced the authentic taste of Ireland taking bespoke tours organised by Fáilte Ireland, experiencing first-hand about what Ireland has to offer visitors.

Commenting on the importance of the workshop and networking event, Oonagh Kelly, Fáilte Ireland, said:

“These overseas agents have the capacity to deliver a significant number of visitors to the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient, East, Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and Dublin, and their presence here is a testimony to Ireland’s appeal as a destination. The workshop highlights the quality of Ireland’s tourism offering, enabling operators to discover new experiences, regions, and products that can be included in future travel programmes.”
