The Rotunda Foundation has reopened The Pillar Room, the striking Georgian venue on the grounds of The Rotunda Hospital, once again making the historic central Dublin space available for conferences, corporate events and private functions in the heart of Dublin city.

Located on Parnell Square East, just moments from O’Connell Street, The Pillar Room offers a distinctive setting that combines historic architecture with modern event flexibility. The venue can accommodate up to 280 guests and is suited to a wide range of events, including conferences, corporate receptions, team-building days, arts and cultural programmes and private celebrations.

Importantly, every booking at The Pillar Room supports the work of The Rotunda Foundation, the official fundraising arm of The Rotunda Hospital. Revenue generated through venue hire contributes to vital research, essential equipment and enhanced care for women, babies and families.

In 2023 and 2024, the Pillar Room was used as the location for the Stardust Inquest, the longest in the history of the State. The venue has now returned to its original purpose as a space for conferences, gatherings, social and cultural events.

Commenting on the reopening, Sarah O’Donnell Ryan, General Manager of The Rotunda Foundation, said:

“It is exciting and rewarding for The Rotunda Foundation to make this remarkable space available once more. The Pillar Room is a truly special venue in the heart of Dublin, and we look forward to welcoming organisations from across Ireland to experience it.”

Professor Seán Daly, Master and CEO of The Rotunda Hospital, said:

“The reopening of The Pillar Room marks an important moment for The Rotunda community. This historic space has played a meaningful role in Ireland’s cultural and civic life, and we are delighted to see it return to its original purpose. Every event held here directly supports the care we provide to women, babies and families, and we are deeply grateful to those who choose The Pillar Room for their gatherings.”

A key feature of the venue is its flexible approach to event delivery, allowing organisers to tailor events to their specific needs. While the venue works with a number of trusted suppliers, clients are also welcome to bring their own partners to create fully bespoke events.

The reopening was marked by a recent showcase event, where event planners and corporate organisers were invited to experience the venue first-hand.burgh.
