Explore what Gen Z can teach us about engagement in the workplace – A WorkJuggle event on November 27th
Do you employ or manage Gen Z workers? Are you a Gen Z employee keen to understand how best to progress in your career? If yes, then this event is for you.
On Thursday, 27 November, Ciara Garvan, founder of WorkJuggle will host a panel discussion and deep dive into the evolving learning and professional development requirements of the next generation, Gen Z, the term generally used for those born between the mid 90’s and the early 2010’s.
The session will be informed by qualitative research recently commissioned by WorkJuggle through their partners Learnovate, the prestigious research and learning hub at Trinity College Dublin.
Amongst the rich insights from the study, the research team identified a number of areas where Gen Z’s workplace expectations diverge significantly from those of previous generations, including:
- Gen Z requires learning to be anchored in purpose – training perceived as purely obligatory will result in low engagement
- Gen Z, accustomed to the speed and variety of digital platforms, favours microlearning ‘bite-size’ learning rather than monolithic training content
- Despite their digital fluency, Gen Z highly values authentic, human-centric support systems – they seek robust mentoring relationships to help navigate complex professional landscapes and value peer-to-peer learning
Joining Ciara on the panel will be Frank O’Reilly, Lead Researcher, Learnovate, industry employers and Gen Z employees to explore the wider findings of the report and discuss practical solutions to successfully navigate the evolving world of work.Â
All attendees at the event will also receive their own copy of the WorkJuggle x Learnovate research report.
