Nine travel professionals from Belgium and the Netherlands have been visiting Northern Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Tourism NI.
The visiting tour operators and travel agents are important partners for Tourism Ireland, bringing valuable Belgian and Dutch visitors to Northern Ireland each year. Tourism Ireland aims to familiarise them with our superb tourism offering, to ensure Northern Ireland features prominently in their programmes.
The Fermanagh itinerary included a guided walking tour of Enniskillen, hydro-biking on Lough Erne, a visit to Florence Court, Cuilcagh Boardwalk Trail and a cruise with Erne Water Taxi. In Belfast, the group learned more about the stories and history of the city with DC Tours, explored the foodie scene with Taste and Tour and visited St George’s Market and Titanic Belfast.
Karen van der Horst, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Northern Europe, said:
“We’re delighted these influential Belgian and Dutch travel professionals have had the opportunity to experience for themselves a flavour of Northern Ireland’s superb tourism offering. With direct flights from Amsterdam to Belfast, the Netherlands is a key potential Mainland European market. This visit is an ideal opportunity to highlight ease of access for Dutch holidaymakers and to showcase Northern Ireland to these influential travel professionals, helping to secure a greater share of their future business for Northern Ireland.”
