~ 1.6 million Spaniards to tune in to Ireland ~

1st March 2024 – Images of Ireland will be seen by around 1.6 million TV viewers in Spain this evening (1st March). Tourism Ireland invited national Spanish broadcaster RTVE to film three episodes here for its popular series Aquí la Tierra (Here the Earth). Filming was supported by Fáilte Ireland.

A TV crew – including well-known Spanish TV presenter Aunitz Alberdi – filmed at several locations earlier this month, focusing on our landscape, biodiversity and food. The first episode, featuring Keogh’s Farm in North County Dublin, aired yesterday (29th February). A second 30-minute episode, featuring Rock Farm Slane on the Slane Castle estate, will air this evening. And a third episode featuring ‘farm to fork’ Brogans Butchers in Athboy will air later this month.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for Spain, said“Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite RTVE and the Aquí la Tierra team to come and film in Ireland. Each episode filmed here will be seen by around 1.6 million people – highlighting our wonderful farm and food scene to Spanish audiences and inspiring them to put Ireland on their holiday ‘wish-list’ for 2024.”
