ASPIRING CHEFS TO GET OPPORTUNITY TO WORK AT METROPOLE HOTEL’S BUSY KITCHEN

CORK’S METROPOLE HOTEL SIGNS UP FOR “OPEN KITCHEN WEEK 2023”

The Metropole Hotel, located in the heart of Cork City has signed up for the exciting Chef Network’s Open Kitchen Week 2023. Participants in Open Kitchen Week will have the opportunity to work in a busy kitchen and experience the job of a chef first hand.

Group Executive Chef at the Metropole Hotel, Alexandre Petit and his team will work with the programme participants to show them how they create unique food experiences. They will also get to see what is happening in the Metropole’s bustling kitchen. The chefs at the Metropole Hotel love to work with local food producers and use locally sourced ingredients and the programme participants will get to see this process first hand.

Group Executive Chef at the Metropole Hotel, Alexandre Petit said: “We are delighted to join the Chef Network Open Kitchen Week programme. We will open our kitchen to the aspiring chefs who want to discover the wonderful world of a restaurant kitchen. The participants on the programme will get a real feel for life in the kitchen of the Metropole Hotel, which is one of the busiest kitchens in Cork city. The participants will also get to take part in the action in our kitchen and feel the buzzing environment.”

As part of the programme the participants will get the opportunity to meet the team at the Metropole and see what their jobs involve. They will also engage in one or two simple activities alongside a team member and understand what happens on a daily basis in the kitchen. The Open Kitchen programme is aimed at school students and school leavers, people looking to return to work, student chefs and people who influence career or study choices.

The programme will run from Wednesday 8th November to Saturday 11th November. Restaurants all over Ireland and Northern Ireland are taking part in the programme. This is the first year of Open Kitchen Week.
