Galgorm celebrates international award win at World Spa and Wellness Awards
The Thermal Spa Village at Galgorm has been hailed as Spa of the Year for Western Europe at a prestigious international awards ceremony held this week in The Brewery, London and attended by more than 700 leading beauty and spa industry figures.
The 2023 World Spa and Wellness Awards, which were recognised at a black-tie gala dinner hosted by TV presenter and renowned ballroom dancer Anton Du Beke, saw winners named across 11 categories, appreciating all aspects of the spa and wellness industry.
Launched in 2012 to recognise and reward the outstanding work carried out by spas across the globe, the World Spa and Wellness Awards is considered the leading award ceremony in the industry and aims to inspire spas around the world and raise global industry standards.
Eve Oxberry, Head of Editorial for World Spa and Wellness and Professional Beauty, welcomed guests, saying;
“The World Spa and Wellness Awards is now in its 11th year, and over that time we’ve seen the industry transition into one with both physical and mental wellbeing at the heart of its offer.
“The importance of touch, community and mindfulness has never been more apparent than in the last few years and our amazing finalists tonight include spas that offer all of that and more, while also achieving a strong business structure and supportive employment environment.”
On the same night, The Professional Beauty Awards were presented following a champagne reception and the Thermal Spa Village at Galgorm was named Large Spa of the Year.
The Professional Beauty Awards are the longest running and best-attended awards for the beauty, spa, nails and aesthetic medicine industries, recognising outstanding customer service, treatment delivery and innovation.
The awards were judged by independent industry experts and every shortlisted salon, spa and clinic was interviewed by a member of the judging team. Therapists all attended a live final in London for a live trade test and interview with judges.
On the Professional Beauty Awards 2023, Eve added:
“These awards are all about raising standards in the beauty and wellness industry and celebrating the businesses and individuals that display outstanding professionalism and embody the luxury and care that are synonymous with spa and beauty.”
Galgorm Collection Managing Director Colin Johnston said;
“We are thrilled to be recognised by Professional Beauty at these prestigious awards for the beauty and spa industry.
