Raspberry Restaurant Brings 1920’S Ambience and style to Wexford

A new restaurant in Gorey has created a stylish, atmospheric, and unique experience inspired by the roaring 1920’s. Raspberry Restaurant is an exciting new venture offering a contemporary menu in a creative and innovative setting.

Inspired by 1920’s era, Raspberry has the ultimate ‘Great Gatsby’ glamour and sophistication for diners, including bold colours, plush velvet seating, geometrical furniture, brass bar, and eclectic lighting, all befitting the roaring twenties!

As guests enter, they are drawn in by a bespoke Art Deco mural designed and hand painted by local artist Jenny Whyte, in addition the artwork surrounding the restaurant sets the scene for all the glamour and colour associated with the great decade.

Gorey native Val Murphy heads up the Raspberry kitchen. Val has over 25 years’ experience working in some of the best establishments in the Southeast. At Raspberry, he produces delicious contemporary Irish cuisine using the very finest of local produce. The menu features dishes including a modern twist on Moroccan Spiced Cod fish, Slow cooked beef and sharing platters of beef or seafood, served on locally hand-crafted wooden boards, which are quickly becoming a favourite with Raspberry diners.

Raspberry also has a glamorous cocktail lounge and semi-private dining area complete with plush seating set away from the 60-seater dining area. The cocktail menu includes ‘signature’ cocktails, using the very finest of Wexford Raspberry’s, like ‘Razzmatazz’ and a raspberry twist on the classic such as the ‘Ramble’ and ‘Raspberry Margarita’. Raspberry was set up by Greg Murphy, an experienced restauranteur and Gorey brothers and entrepreneurs, Paraic and Rory Murphy.

Commenting on the launch, Partner Greg Murphy said; “We are so delighted to be officially launching Raspberry. Since we opened last year, we set about creating a full experience for customers, which would include a separate cocktail lounge and an excellent meal served in ambient and vibrant surroundings, with a ‘nod’ to the fun and extravagance of the great decade of the 1920’s”.
