Mount Congreve Gardens to host Star Gazing Night

The beautiful 70 acres Mount Congreve Gardens in County Waterford is set to host a night under the starbright skies.

A Star Gazing Night will take place on Saturday, August 14th a date during which the most spectacular meteor shower of the year takes place in Ireland, the Perseid Meteor Showers.

Visitors will have the opportunity to find a socially distanced spot on the lawns of the walled garden and watch nature’s greatest movie under the dark skies of Mount Congreve Gardens. The Perseids is one of the most popular nights to gaze at the heavens in the Northern Hemisphere each mid-August, capable of producing 40 to 50 meteors per hour when at its peak.

The outdoor Mount Congreve Café will be open for treats and hot drinks and as with all events at Mount Congreve Gardens visitors must pre-book their tickets online in advance at www.mountcongreve.com as a limited number of tickets are on offer.

Tickets are €15 per person and this event is for over 12’s only. The Star Gazing evening begins at 8.30 pm and concludes at 11.30 pm. Visitors are asked to allow plenty of time in advance of this for arrival and ticket checks.
