Five travel journalists followed a bespoke itinerary along the Wild Atlantic Way and Ireland’s Ancient East.

Five travel journalists from Germany and Austria, with a combined audience of around 5.8 million, have been exploring Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and tour operator Raiffeisen Touristik Group.

The journalists – representing various print and online publications – followed a bespoke itinerary showcasing some of the great holiday experiences on offer along the Wild Atlantic Way and in Ireland’s Ancient East.

Their busy programme featured a sheepdog demonstration with Connemara Wild Escapes, Kylemore Abbey, as well as a tour and tasting at DK Connemara Oysters. Other highlights included the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher, Foyne’s Flying Boat Museum, the Dingle Peninsula, the Rock of Cashel and Kilkenny.

Nadine Lehmann, Tourism Ireland’s Manager for DACH countries (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), said:

“Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite these influential German and Austrian journalists to discover first-hand the spectacular landscapes, rich culture and wealth of visitor experiences we have to offer. Through the articles and content they create and share, the journalists will inspire their readers and followers to come and experience Ireland for themselves.”
