Eight staff have successfully graduated from the IHF Skillnet Management Development Programme.
The Brehon Hotel is delighted to announce the graduation of eight members of its team from the IHF Skillnet Management Development Programme. This is a proud milestone in the hotel’s ongoing commitment to nurturing talent and developing future hospitality leaders.Â
The graduation ceremony was held on 2nd June in the hotel’s beautifully newly refurbished Badb Bar, where graduates were joined by owner John O’Donoghue, General Manager Neil Grant, Deputy General Manager Nuno Ribeiro, HR Manager Michelle Greene, along with senior members of the management team for an afternoon of celebration and well deserved recognition.
Guests and graduates enjoyed a drinks reception and canapés prepared by The Brehon’s Head Chef, Niall Mulcahy, before graduates were formally presented with their graduation certificates by Garrett Power, Chair of the Irish Hotels Federation Kerry Branch.
About the Programme
Delivered by Karen Healy, Learning and Development Specialist at Meraki, and run in conjunction with (and subsidised by) IHF Skillnet, the programme ran over seven months and saw delegates immersed in a comprehensive Management Development curriculum aligned to The Brehon’s core values.Â
Through a series of monthly workshops, the programme focused on key areas including leadership, communication, employment law, time management, emotional intelligence, stress management, coaching, and presentation skills. The initiative equipped emerging and established supervisors and managers with the practical tools, knowledge, and confidence needed to lead teams effectively, deliver exceptional guest experiences, and support continued career development within the industry.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Manager Neil Grant said:
