Get Ready for the Ultimate Outdoor, Adventure & Wellness Weekend at Wander Wild in Killarney

Now in its fifth year, Wander Wild, Ireland’s leading outdoor and wellness festival transforms Killarney into the country’s ultimate playground for adventure, wellbeing and connection. Across 26,000 acres of UNESCO Killarney National Park and the town, the festival hosts over 160 events celebrating nature, movement, and community.

WestWords: Poetry & Spoken Word
Award-winning author and mental health blogger Daragh Fleming will host an intimate gathering of poets and spoken word artists. Participants will share works inspired by the land, wildness, and nature, creating a unique evening where words connect thoughts, experiences, and people.

Killarney’s Hidden Valley Hike: The Horses Glen
Local mountaineer Killian Buckley, known for climbing some of the world’s toughest routes, leads a 12km hike with 800m elevation through one of Killarney’s best-kept secrets. Along the way, he shares stories from his global expeditions, proving that the most stunning landscapes are sometimes off the beaten track.

Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Glide along the Lakes of Killarney on a paddleboard, taking in the Eagles Nest, Purple Mountain, and The MacGillycuddy’s Reeks. This activity offers a unique perspective of the lakes, combining balance, serenity, and adventure.

Wildlings Family Events
Families can enjoy a range of activities, from folklore walks with children’s author Barry Coleman, yoga for kids, and parent-child sound baths, to nature-themed LEGO workshops, Autism-friendly walks, and festival favorites such as Gruffalo hunts, family orienteering, and kids’ balance bike workshops.

Trail Running Masterclass with Outsider.ie
Irish international trail runner Matt McConnell offers coaching on technique, trail confidence, training principles, and fueling strategies for endurance. All attendees receive a free Altar Speed Dust bag.

Seanchoíche
An evening of storytelling where ordinary people share extraordinary experiences. This safe, supportive space is filled with empathy, laughter, and connection.

Plámásing
A new talk-show style evening hosted by Fionn Phelan, featuring singer Rua Rí, adventure creator Tadhg O’Brien, and Gaeilgeoir John Prendergast, celebrating creativity, curiosity, and culture through engaging conversation.

Sunrise & Sunset Kayak Tours
Explore the lakes on a three-hour guided kayak tour, visiting the Coppermines, Limestone Caves, and the ruins of a 7th-century monastery on Inisfallen Island. Multiple sessions run throughout the weekend.

Rave ar Róthar
Kick off the festival with a 5km group cycle through Killarney, led by a cycling DJ. Dress up, deck your bike in lights, and enjoy a pedal-powered party through the town. Free event – Cyclists must register as places are limited. 

Social Summit with Tadhg O’Brien
Join a moderate-to-difficult 10km hike to North Mangerton Mountain (839m). Connect with fellow hikers and learn about Ireland’s landscapes and the joys of being outdoors.

Killarney House Wellness Village
A dome tent wellness hub offers yoga, pilates, breathwork, meditation, sound baths, ecstatic dance, and new experiences such as ceremonial cacao, Five Element Flow, and inner child movement journeys.

Scale Ireland’s Three Highest Peaks
Experienced climbers can tackle the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and Coomloughra Horseshoe, including Ireland’s three highest peaks, for a challenging and adrenaline-pumping adventure.

Hermitage Green – Live at St. Mary’s Church
Acclaimed trad-folk band Hermitage Green performs at the stunning St. Mary’s Church, promising an emotive, high-energy concert on Saturday, 18 April.

Ellie Berry’s Vandeleur-Lynam Round Screening
Catch the premiere of Ellie Berry’s record-breaking climb of all 275 Irish mountains over 600m, followed by a Q&A with Ellie and Matthew McConnell from Outsider.ie.

Guided Bat Walks
Discover the nocturnal world of bats in the National Park with an expert guide, learning about the species, their ecosystem role, and night navigation.

Wander Wild Festival Tickets

Tickets range from €10 to €100, with many free events available. Some activities are already sold out so check availability at wanderwildfestival.com  A sustainability bus will shuttle visitors to all off-site activities.
