Popular Italian travel TV show, Kilimangiaro has been filming at various locations in Ireland this month.
Popular Italian travel TV show, Kilimangiaro, with approximately 1.2 million viewers per episode has been filming at various locations in Ireland this month.Filming was supported by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The episode filmed here is set to air later this year on Italian national TV station Rai 3, showcasing our fantastic outdoor experiences, breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality.
The crew has been filming at locations such as Athlone Castle, Clonmacnoise, Lough Boora Discovery Park, Jerpoint Glass Studio, Cushendale Woollen Mills, Ballykeefe Distillery and Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny. The crew also captured footage of a cruise on the River Shannon with Viking Tours Ireland and a traditional Irish music session in Sean’s Bar in Athlone.

“We were delighted to invite the crew from ‘Kilimangiaro’ to come and film in Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands and Ireland’s Ancient East. Around 1.2 million people in Italy are expected to watch the special Ireland episode, inspiring them to visit by shining a spotlight on our landscapes and experiences, as well as the characters who make Ireland such a great place to visit.
