The Reserve at Killashee is the newest addition to the enchanting Killashee estate, located across the road from the hotel on its own 4.5 acres grounds
Mr Martin Heydon Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine joined David Kelly CEO FBD Hotels & Resorts and Ger Alley General Manager Killashee Hotel as the special guest at the official launch of The Reserve at Killashee on 6th June 2025. The ultimate country retreat where luxury meets exclusivity, The Reserve is the newest addition to the enchanting Killashee estate, located across the road from the hotel on its own 4.5 acres grounds at Rathasker in County Kildare.
The Reserve is a premium ultra luxurious residence that presents an elevated experience that redefines country living with unparalleled privacy and sophistication. With nine ensuite bedrooms that can accommodate up to 18 people, a dining room, boardroom for 10, library, living room and a large spacious kitchen area, the property is wheelchair accessible. Outside the former stables have been transformed into a private wellness area featuring a sauna, 6-seater hot tub with louvre canape, relaxation area with four Gharieni beds, fitness area equipped with a yoga space, treadmill, and fitness bike. The patio decking area houses a BBQ area and the surrounding mature gardens feature designated walks.
Commenting at the launch David Kelly CEO FBD Hotels & Resorts welcomed Minister Heydon and thanked interior designer Liz Hart and architects Cantrell & Crowley for creating a welcoming, self-contained sustainable and unique space.
“The Reserve is a great example of sustainable tourism in line with the growing demand for environmentally conscious travel. Everything in the building has been designed with sustainability and energy efficiency in mind. Renewable energy systems have been installed including air to water technology and solar panels on the roof, and all nine bedrooms have air conditioning. Incorporating wellness into this new offering was really important, with the Wellness Pods, walking trails and outdoor yoga spaces to the complete experience.”
The self-contained property can be hired independently or used in conjunction with events in the hotel. Ideally positioned for corporate groups, wedding parties, friends and multi-generational family gatherings, it is multi-purpose and can also be used for activities such as yoga retreats, courses and product launches.
Primely located close to golf courses, three racecourses The Curragh, Punchestown and Naas, and numerous historic visitor attractions, The Reserve can be booked for a minimum two nights stay. There is a selection of menus specifically designed for The Reserve including charcuterie & cheese platters, finger food, selection of canapes & cold buffet menus. Alternatively, guests have the option of dining in Killashee Hotel’s restaurants including the Pippin Tree and the Oak & Anvil. Guests can also avail of the facilities at the main hotel including The Spa and leisure centre with the 25m swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna.
Killashee which was bought by FBD Hotel & Resorts in April 2022, has been transformed with significant investment into the hotel itself, The Spa and more recently the refurbishment of the original Manor House. In early 2024, FBD Hotels & Resorts purchased The Bower guesthouse located directly across the main Kilcullen Road from Killashee Hotel for €1.2m. A country residence built in 1999 and extending 5,200 sq. ft (483 sq. mt) the house was completely renovated with an investment of €2 million to create The Reserve at Killashee.
