The lovingly curated new Love Story Afternoon Tea celebrates the love and passion of some of the most romantic couples from popular literature, film and music.
A decadent experience, Afternoon Tea at InterContinental Hotel, Dublin, is always a special occasion. For Valentines Day, the romance ranking is off the scale, with the most elegant presentation of its Love Story Afternoon Tea in the stunning and intimate surroundings of the refreshed Reading Room with its roaring fire or the elegant Lobby Lounge overlooking the Garden Terrace.
Legendary lovers that inspired the hotel’s award-winning Pastry Chef Orna Larkin to create Love Story Afternoon Tea includes Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The star-crossed couple are celebrated in a decadent Raspberry and Honey Cheesecake, where love’s sweetness also has a certain delicious piquancy.
A flamboyant Pear Sponge with Vanilla Whipped Ganache represents the young love of Danny and Sandy, the dizzy, delightful debutantes from the much-loved 70s musical movie, Grease.
The real-life dramatic passion of Johnny and June Cash is represented with a Chocolate and Blood Orange Entremets, as deep and delicious as bluegrass jazz; while the tragic love of The Swan Princess from Swan Lake demands a delicate light Passionfruit and White Chocolate Pannacotta to make us swoon. Valentines or Galentines will also enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones and pastries and a selection of fresh coffees and loose-leaf teas complement the food.
Love Story Afternoon Tea will be served between Monday February 12th and Sunday February 18th at the InterContinental Dublin, with a reservation necessary.
The romantic experience, costing €62 per person, can be enhanced with a Valentines cocktail of choice, for €72, or a glass of Perrier-Jouët Champagne for €75 per person.
