In keeping with the spirit of giving to others over the Christmas period the InterContinental Dublin has created a fantastic gingerbread house.
The gingerbread house at InterContinental Dublin has long been the centrepiece of the hotel’s Christmas decorations.
This year Head Pastry Chef Orna Larkin and her team created a pink gingerbread house, in partnership with Debra Ireland to raise awareness for those affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
Upon the gingerbread house’s completion, Debra Ireland CEO Jimmy Fearon paid a visit to the hotel and expressed deep appreciation for the thoughtful gesture.
The gingerbread house, which took 3 weeks to complete, is comprised of 80 kilograms of carefully prepared gingerbread and decorated with a generous 100 kilograms of royal icing.
As a gesture of solidarity and support for the cause, hotel guests and visitors are encouraged to contribute to Debra Ireland by simply scanning a QR code conveniently displayed beside the gingerbread house. This innovative approach allows everyone to play a part in supporting this meaningful cause during the festive season.
