Conrad Dublin renews its sustainability commitment with Earth Day tree pledge

Saturday, April 22nd saw Conrad Dublin celebrate Earth Day by planting trees on behalf of its guests. Through investing revenue back into community programmes, the capital’s leading 5 star hotel has been demonstrating its commitment to operating more sustainably.

Through a new partnership with leading reforestation charity Hometree, an astounding 200 native Irish trees have been pledged on behalf of guests, tackling Ireland’s declining biodiversity and aiding in pivotal reforestation measures across the nation. At such an imperative moment in the battle against climate change, new trees provide essential carbon offsetting in the atmosphere.

This comes as part of 5 star hotel’s wider ‘Travel with Purpose’ scheme, a bid to bring sustainable measures to the forefront of the luxury travel sector. Speaking on the initiative, Conrad Dublin’s Green Team said “We are committed to increasing our investment in social impact and substantially reducing our environmental footprint through responsible hospitality across our value chain.”

In the broad context of the hospitality industry, Conrad Dublin has recognised a need for luxury hotels to take more responsibility in sustainability, for the benefit of not only its guests but also the planet, through initiatives from reforestation to beekeeping with OpenHive Honey. The hotel’s new Green Team oversees this to ensure the award winning hotel is as eco friendly as possible, working under the guidance of the Environmental Social and Governance framework.
