Irish Foodservice Supplier Awards Shortlist Announced Ahead of CATEX

THE Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance (IFSA) has just announced the finalists in this year’s IFSA’s Awards, with the winners being announced at day one at CATEX – Ireland’s largest foodservice & hospitality event, returning to the RDS, Simmonscourt from 21-23 February 2023.

Aimed at acknowledging product and service innovation within the foodservice industry, with a central focus on sustainability, the theme for 2023 is Sustainability and the Circular Economy, with the awards shinning a light on suppliers who are at the forefront of industry’s response to the environmental crisis.

The winners will be announced at CATEX, following a two-stage judging process, overseen by an independent, expert panel of judges with a wealth of experience including, Maurice Bergin, Managing Director of Green Hospitality; Keith Warren, Director of FEA UK; Tony McGuigan, Head of Procurement and F&B Projects, Dalata Hotel Group PLC; Gullaime Oates, GFD Associates and Sean Graham, Chief Information Officer, PREM Group.

The IFSA Awards categories and shortlisted companies are:

Best Foodservice Technology Product – Front of House

Best Sustainable Food Product

  • Frylite Solutions from Frylite Solutions
  • Plant-It Breaded Range from Plant-It
  • Plant-It Plain Fillet and Meat-Free Mince from Plant-It

Energy Efficiency Innovation in Heavy Catering Equipment

  • LightFry from Valentine & CuisinEquip
  • Palux Touch and Steam COMBI Oven from Catering Innovation Agency
  • Smart Vent from Pure Vent
  • Converge Multi Cook Oven from KANECO LTD

Elsewhere, nominees in the National Foodservice Supplier of the Year category have also been announced. These companies were nominated by the foodservice and hospitality industry for their leadership and ground-breaking efforts to lead the way to a more sustainable future. Commenting on the Awards, Alan Cruite, Chairman of Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance says: The hugely popular IFSA’s Awards are returning to CATEX later this month, and we look forward to seeing the wealth of innovation and technology from companies that are prioritising sustainable solutions that are making a real difference within the industry.

“We were overwhelmed by the level of entries into this year’s awards and the judges were challenged shortlisting the finalists – those who have really positioned sustainability at the forefront of their offering.

“Award winners will be given the opportunity to shine a light on their products at CATEX which is expected to attract 12,000+ visitors across the three days.”
