15,000 Spaniards to tune in to Ireland

A TV crew from Teledeporte – a Spanish television channel owned by Televisión Española (TVE) – has been filming in Ireland, as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.

A two-person crew travelled here, to capture content at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at Dromoland Castle, for a programme all about golf called Hola Golf. They also filmed at Adare Manor. The episode filmed here will air later this autumn to an audience of around 15,000 Spanish viewers.

Tourism Ireland is undertaking an extensive programme of promotional activity in Spain this autumn. Publicity and broadcasts like this are a key element of the programme, to encourage travellers in Spain to put the island of Ireland on their future holiday wish-list.

Susan Bolger, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Spain, said: “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite the crew from Teledeporte to come and film in Ireland for its Hola Golf programme. With an audience of around 15,000 viewers, it’s a great way of showcasing Ireland and our superb golf – inspiring Spanish golfers to come and experience the destination for themselves. Golf is the world’s largest sports-related travel market and one that Tourism Ireland is committed to growing. A key message in our golf promotions is the Ryder Cup taking place at Adare Manor in 2027.”

Spain is the fifth-largest market for overseas tourism to the island of Ireland. In 2019, we welcomed 431,000 Spanish visitors; revenue generated by Spanish visitors that year was €218 million.
