Spa Manager at Monart Destination Spa Amy Kenny says that oftentimes those undergoing cancer care can often find themselves unable to enjoy a spa treatment, however ‘this is not the case at Monart Destination Spa.’
During covid restrictions, while guest capacity was limited across the hospitality sector the Spa therapist team took the opportunity to undertake specialist training with spa professional of over 30 years and the founder of Clinton Cancer Care in New York, Christine Clinton. Christine is a clinical specialist, an alumni of Harvard Medical School and her work was recently recognised by The Global Wellness Institute. The spa team at Monart undertook specialist therapist training in medical massage for cancer patients Skincare, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Lymphatic Drainage, Energy Medicine and Therapeutic Massage.

This training provides us with the expertise to provide respite, support and offers and opportunity to enhance the quality of life for our guests who may be living with cancer or with a history of cancer. The range of treatments available to these guests includes massage, bespoke facial treatments, reflexology and reiki.”
