Taste Kilkenny Urges Diners to Support local Business
Taste Kilkenny welcomes the return of the county’s eagerly anticipated second annual Taste Kilkenny Restaurant Week. Kicking off today, Friday 18th February, diners can avail of great offers and discounts from the county’s best loved restaurants, hotels, cafés and pubs.
In an effort to support an industry after a turbulent couple of years, Taste Kilkenny is encouraging people to visit their local restaurants, pubs, cafes and hotels and support them by dining out or ordering a take-out meal this week.
Funded by Kilkenny County Council, Taste Kilkenny Restaurant Week is offering visitors and local foodies a meaningful opportunity to experience some of the area’s most sought-after restaurants. For the next 10 ‘dining- packed’ days, over 30 participating establishments will showcase some of their best loved and most popular dishes at discounted prices.
Lending an ideal reason to explore Kilkenny’s nationally lauded culinary scene, diners can experience new, showstopping restaurants and familiar favourites alike throughout the city and county. This year’s participants include award winning restaurants, local gourmet gems and of course, some old favourites. For a full list visit: www.visitkilkenny.ie
Commenting on the first day of Restaurant Week, Cathaoirleach of Kilkenny County Council, Cllr Fidelis Doherty said; “Kilkenny County Council is delighted to sponsor this initiative and is proud to show our support to local businesses across the county.
Taste Kilkenny’s Restaurant Week comes at a great time! The restaurant industry has faced unprecedented trials over the past 18 months, and businesses are ready to safely serve their regulars and new diners, eager to expand their culinary horizons. This is a great opportunity for people to show their support to all those businesses who overcame challenging times during covid.”
