CATEX to Open Doors for Food Service and Hospitality Sectors at November Event
Owned by the Irish Foodservice Suppliers Alliance (IFSA), CATEX, supported by Bunzl and Calor, is returning to the RDS Simmonscourt from the 2nd to 4th November. As one of the first trade exhibitions to open its doors, the return of CATEX has been welcomed from across industry and comes at a time when businesses within the hospitality and foodservice industries are focused on rebuilding.
CATEX 2021 is the show, developed by industry for the industry, and November’s event is firmly focused on helping delegates from hospitality and foodservice navigate the new world with solutions, trends, cost savings and new products and services.
“For over 50 years CATEX has been the cornerstone expo for the foodservice, catering, and hospitality industries in Ireland. Needed more than ever before, CATEX is crucial for galvanising the industry and driving new business for exhibitors.
“IFSA has specifically designed the November event to help exhibitors secure new business, and for visitors to benefit from features that will help their businesses to grow now,” comments Patrick Clement, Chair, IFSA.
Home to the Irish Brewers Competitions, CATEX 2021 will also present the Chef Culinary Competitions from Panel of Chefs, the Irish Village, The European Speciality Tea Association and addressing the staff shortages in hospitality, a new CATEX recruitment hub has been created. Aramark is hosting a Producer Showcase and Chef Network will be representing thousands of professional and student chefs at the event.
In 2019, a record number of industry professionals attended CATEX with 75% of visitors intending to or placing an order at the show. That’s why CATEX floorspace is already filling up with committed exhibitors including Bunzl, Calor, BWG Foods, Bewleys, UCC Coffee, Sysco, Ferrero, Brennan’s Bread, Clonakilty Food Co., Flahavan’s, Ballymaloe Foods, Coffee House Lane and many more. Elavon payment systems will also be in attendance as sponsors of the registration and CATEX pocket guide.
“We’re proud to have supported CATEX for many years, but even more so in 2021, following the unprecedented events of the last two years. As an industry, we’re stronger together and we’re delighted to see CATEX back in business,” adds Sean Martin, Sales Director, Bunzl McLaughlin, co-sponsors of CATEX.
Sean continues: “I’m really looking forward to eventually seeing many customers face-to-face for the first time, and to make new connections as business gradually returns to more normal times. Our focus for CATEX is on delivering solutions for our customers that will help them to navigate the ever-changing environment.”
Show co-sponsor, Oliver Kenny, Chief Commercial Officer of Calor Ireland adds: “Calor is delighted to be part of the team welcoming CATEX back to the real world and we can’t wait to see everyone in the industry face to face. Our sponsorship of CATEX is an important demonstration of our belief in the catering industry across the island.
With the increased emphasis on sustainability and low carbon energy, Calor’s focus at CATEX 21 will be on helping businesses to transition to a more sustainable energy solution, with Calor lower-carbon and renewable gas products. Calor is behind you all the way we will be showing this support with a range of offers available at the event.”
This year, organisers are calling for the foodservice and hospitality sectors to continue to support fellow professionals in working together to move forward. “As an industry, we’ve never experienced such a turbulent time, but now it’s time to move forward with confidence. For visitors, CATEX is serving up an incredible line-up of new products, services and knowledge that can really help businesses gain an edge as we build back better,” adds Patrick Clement.
