Job Description

We are currently seeking a passionate and dynamic Sales professional who prides themselves on their ability to deliver extraordinary levels of customer service and provide creative experiences for our guests. This is an office-based role, but will involve national and international travel.

As Assistant Sales Manager, you will be responsible for implementing all sales activities and maximizing business opportunities in your specific area of responsibility. The role involves implementing and executing all sales action plans and will include the following key duties and responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Group Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Plan, schedule and carry out Sales Calls, both nationally & internationally
  • Represent the hotels at various events such as sales missions, trade shows & exhibitions, both nationally & internationally
  • Actively assist in site inspections, client entertainment and FAM trips to the hotels for potential clients
  • Actively assist with the preparation and delivery of sales presentations
  • Implement all Sales activities as outlined in the company’s Sales Plan
  • Prepare sales reports & follow-ups with clients within the period set out by the Group Sales & Marketing Manager
  • Identify new markets & business opportunities to increase sales
  • Acquire and develop new business accounts and prepare sales proposals for potential clients
  • Build & Strengthen relationships with existing and new customers
  • Handle all incoming RFP’s generated by proactive or reactive sales
  • Implement and execute all sales objectives and action plans to reach and exceed set targets
  • Prepare offers according to guest requirements and availability, according to company standards and selling strategy
  • Ensure that all necessary information about events are obtained from the client directly prior to the preparation of an offer
  • Maximize up selling opportunities by proposing additional events and activities suitable and complimenting to the booking
  • Ensure that sales policies and SOPs are adhered to at all times
Education, Qualification & Experience Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a minimum of two years’ experience, ideally within the hotel industry
  • Computer literate with excellent presentation skills and highly sophisticated communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proficiency in English language is essential, both written and oral
  • Other language skills beside English will be an asset
  • Full, clean drivers licence is essential as travel will be required for this role
