Sustainability Award for The Chancery Hotel at the 2026 Gold Medal Awards

The Chancery has prioritised energy and sustainable efficiencies at every level since opening

The Chancery Hotel was recognised at the 2026 Gold Medal Awards with a Silver accolade in the ‘Ireland’s Sustainability/Leading Green Hotel’ category. The award is presented to hotels that have implemented distinctive environmentally sustainable operations in their day-to-day procedures for reduced environmental impact.

Proudly operating on a fossil fuel-free basis with PV-generated electricity and sensor-operated lighting and a committed water usage management system in place. Housekeeping operates an environmentally friendly cleaning system. Real wood sustainably produced, reclaimed granite and Connemara marble feature throughout the hotel’s interior design, blending style and luxury with responsibility and care.

A philosophy of sustainable wellness permeates the hotel’s guest experience with a dedicated wellness hub for guests’ relaxation. The WaterDream Mini Pool is complemented by the sauna, Hammam Turkish Bath experience, the vertical massage shower and relaxation lounge, designed for complete calm. There is also a rejuvenating spa treatment menu featuring Irish natural skincare brand Jo Browne. Signature Terrace Suites feature private jacuzzi hot tubs and a signature deluxe room features a private infrared sauna.

The Chancery has prioritised energy and sustainable efficiencies at every level since opening and won LEED Gold Certification, securing the highest rating across the UK and Ireland, scoring 71 points, under the LEED Hospitality scheme in addition to earning Green Hospitality Certification. This new accolade from the Gold Medal Awards, for Ireland’s Sustainability/Leading Green Hotel category is further recognition of The Chancery Hotel’s commitment to sustainable operations.

All sustainable operation measures are overseen by Reyhan Thomas, the Compliance and Sustainability Manager for The Chancery Hotel. Talking on the award win, Reyhan said,
