The IWPA is a new not-for-profit organisation formed to unite, support and elevate the country’s most trusted wedding experts.

A landmark moment for Ireland’s wedding industry was celebrated this week with the official launch of IWPA – the Irish Wedding Professionals Association, a new not-for-profit organisation formed to unite, support and elevate the country’s most trusted wedding experts.

A Sold-Out Celebration at The K-Club

The launch event took place on Tuesday 27th May in the beautiful surroundings of The Palmer at The K Club, Straffan, County Kildare — overlooking award-winning fairways and set within one of Ireland’s iconic luxury venues. The setting perfectly reflected the elegance and potential of Ireland as a premier destination for weddings globally.

The sold-out event brought together more than 100 of Ireland’s leading venues and creative suppliers for a vibrant evening of conversation, collaboration, and connection. The curated programme included:

  • A keynote welcome from IWPA’s founding board, sharing the vision and values behind the Association
  • A practical and inspiring talk from Niamh Murphy, Founder of ETC, on the power of storytelling to elevate wedding business brands
  • A showcase of Irish creativity, including seasonal canapés and handcrafted cocktails using spirits from Old Carrickmill Distillery.
  • Stunning floral art installations by Dutch master and IWPA board member Lamber De Bie
  • Uplifting live performances curated by D-Entertainment, which brought energy and rhythm to the evening

General Manager of The K Club, Paul Heery said:

“We were delighted to host such a special launch event at The K Club. Weddings are a big part of what we do here and we pride ourselves on working alongside some of the best suppliers in the business in order to curate the special day of people’s dreams. The formation of the IWPA provides us all with an important platform to showcase our nation as a world-class wedding destination that offers a wealth of stunning venues and premium suppliers.”

A Shared Vision for Ireland’s Wedding Industry

IWPA was founded in 2025 with a clear mission: to raise professional and ethical standards across the wedding sector in Ireland, while fostering collaboration, trust, and excellence among its members.

The Association is underpinned by five key pillars: Expertise, Integrity, Quality, Education, and Collaboration.

Through these, IWPA is committed to:

  • Representing the industry at national and international levels
  • Championing its members and celebrating their work
  • Providing access to accreditation, education, resources and support
  • Enhancing Ireland’s global appeal as a world-class wedding destination

Commenting on the launch Chairperson Eunice Power said,

“Our industry thrives on creativity, connection and mutual respect. IWPA is here to be a collective voice for wedding professionals across the island — promoting best-in-class practices and a sustainable, inclusive future for all.”

IWPA is now officially open for membership, and wedding professionals across the island of Ireland — including planners, stylists, venues, florists, photographers and more — are encouraged to join.
