Fáilte Ireland workshop for Global Inbound Travel Agents held in Kilkenny’s Lyrath Estate Hotel
Over 35 Irish tourism businesses from across the country will pitch for business to a group of Global Inbound travel agents, at a workshop held today (12th November 2024) in The Lyrath Estate, Kilkenny. The event, which is being organised by Fáilte Ireland in association with Tourism Ireland, will see Irish businesses hold one-to-one meetings encouraging these influential overseas operators, to promote Ireland to their clients for the 2025 travel season.
This group of UK-based Global Inbound agents promote holidays to potential visitors in China, South America, the Middle East among others and represent great potential for Irish business. The workshop will help maintain some current relationships and forge new ones with the Irish Industry, leading to future business in 2025 and beyond.
Paul Mockler, Head of Commercial Development with Fáilte Ireland stressed the importance of hosting events like these and the benefits for the Irish trade involved, said: “We are pleased that these important Global Inbound agents have chosen to come to Ireland as they start planning for their 2025 season and beyond. These overseas agents have the capacity to deliver a significant number of visitors to Ireland and their presence here is a testimony to Ireland’s appeal as a destination. Sales events such as these are very effective for Irish businesses, allowing them to make direct contact with multiple travel agents and overseas buyers in one day.”
To further showcase what Ireland can truly offer, Fáilte Ireland has also put together a tailor-made tour for the travel agents to get out and about, to learn first-hand more about the country, and get an authentic taste of what an Irish holiday can offer. These trips provide a great opportunity for overseas operators to experience Ireland first-hand and play a key role in persuading these agents to choose Ireland as a holiday destination for their customers.
