- Exciting Improvements Made to Airport’s Lounge Offering
- Rollout of daa’s 15-Point Improvement Plan Continues
Dublin Airport has commenced the rollout of a number of exciting new additions to its food and beverage options for passengers as the busy summer season gets underway.
The launch of new eating and drinking options are the latest improvements being rolled out by airport operator daa in the two terminals at Dublin Airport as part of a 15-point plan launched in March this year, which aim to provide a better and more enjoyable travel experience for passengers.
The stunning new The Lansdowne Bar + Kitchen has recently opened its doors on the Arrivals floor in Terminal 1, with four more exciting new outlets set to open over the coming weeks.
Developed in partnership with daa’s food and beverage partner SSP, The Lansdowne Bar + Kitchen offers a vibrant atmosphere where passengers can relax, meet friends and family, and enjoy a range of delicious culinary dishes from finger-licking wings to unforgettable burgers. Named after the famous stadium on Dublin’s Lansdowne Road, The Lansdowne features numerous large-screen TV’s on which guests can enjoy the biggest sporting events, while they wait at the airport or enjoy a post-flight beer, wine or gin and tonic.
4 Great Irish Brands Set to Open
Among the other new outlets due to open shortly are a seasonal pop-up coffee unit at the bustling 100 gates in Terminal 1, as well as new outlets from popular Irish brands including Cloudpicker Coffee Roasters, Camile Thai, and Handsome Burger.
Exciting improvements are also being made to Dublin Airport’s lounges. In partnership with catering partner KSG, the lounges at Dublin Airport will shortly start offering hot food options in the T1 Lounge, The East Lounge, and the US pre-clearance lounge in Terminal 2, 51st & Green. Passengers will be able to enjoy a diverse range of high-quality locally sourced produce while they relax ahead of their flight.
KSG has set a target to use 90% local produce in the airport by 2025, up from 80% currently. The lounges will offer seasonal menus, while each month will feature the products of an indigenous Irish producer.
The breakfast menu in the lounges will incorporate a mix of traditional Irish favourites, all from a self-service counter, along with porridge, granola and fruit options. At lunch and dinner, customers will enjoy a selection of gourmet sandwiches, an array of fresh salads and wholesome hearty options, such as a lamb ragu and beef in Guinness, as well as vegan options. A range of home-baked pastries, Irish Charcuterie, Irish cheeses, Irish smoked fish and a selection of fresh breads will be available throughout the day.
Aileen Dowd, Food and Beverage Business Development Manager at Dublin Airport: “We have listened to what passengers want and the additions we are making in both terminals will increase the food and drink options and lead to a more enjoyable experience for everyone who travels through Dublin Airport. Our goal is to deliver the best food and beverage offerings possible, providing increased variety, quality, and affordability. We are proud of the progress we have made so far to enhance the food and drink offerings at Dublin Airport and passengers can look forward to many more exciting additions coming very soon.”
More Seats, Faster Wi-Fi, Better Transport Options
daa’s 15-point improvement plan is bringing about a suite of journey-enhancing improvements in the terminals at Dublin Airport. These include quicker security times, with the aim of getting at least 90% of passengers through screening in under 20 minute, faster free Wi-Fi speeds, 400+ additional seats at departure gates, the addition of designated family seating areas, a 20% increase in the number of taxis available, and 15% more active bus routes serving the airport.
Dublin Airport remains dedicated to delivering excellence in every aspect of the passenger journey and will continue to roll out further improvements over the weeks and months ahead which will greatly enhance the experience for all users of the airport.
