Festive fun is to the fore this December at the elegant four-star Avalon House Hotel in Castlecomer, County Kilkenny
The 19th-century luxury manor house hotel has a calendar packed with Christmas events with an occasion for everyone.
The festivities will get underway on Saturday, December 10th with a Festive Afternoon Tea planned for the hotel ballroom. Guests will savour a three-tier selection including a variety of savoury sandwiches featuring an abundance of locally sourced ingredients and flavours, homemade scones with seasonal jams and compote along with delicious pastry delights and Christmas special sweets to top it off. A glass of bubbles is served in addition to a selection of teas and coffee. Musical entertainment will ensure that guests are in festive mode as the beautiful strains of harp music will be on offer for this special event.
Festive Afternoon Tea gets underway at 1.30 pm and offers the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends and family this Christmas. Festive Afternoon Tea is priced at €30 per person and pre-booking is required.
On Sunday, December 11th and Sunday, December 18th will see Santa Claus and Mrs Claus arrive at the boutique hotel. Santa’s Grotto will be located in the property’s very own restored fire station building which sits just off the beautiful hotel courtyard. Santa will be welcoming guests each Sunday afternoon following a traditional four-course festive lunch, which will be served between 12.30 and 3.30 pm. In addition, there will be face-painting, balloon modelling, magic tricks with the resident magician and the opportunity to post letters directly to the North Pole. All-inclusive bookings for adults are €35.00, €25 for children aged 2 to 12 and €10 for those under 2 and all children will receive a gift from Santa Claus. Pre-booking is essential to avoid disappointment.
Avalon House Hotel is located in Castlecomer County Kilkenny, it features 30 restful and beautifully decorated bedrooms overlooking the quaint countryside of County Kilkenny.
