Tourism Ireland teams up with Air Canada in new ad campaign to grow Canadian visitor numbers
Tourism Ireland has teamed up with Air Canada, in a new advertising campaign to grow visitor numbers from Montreal in Canada.
The six-week outdoor campaign includes highly visible ads on over 70 bus shelters around the city of Montreal – encouraging commuters to ‘press the Green Button’ and book their next vacation to Ireland. The campaign is highlighting Air Canada’s direct flight from Montreal to Dublin, reminding Canadian travellers that Ireland is ‘closer than you think’.
A fun interactive digital screen has also been positioned near the busy Dorchester Square in downtown Montreal. Easily identified by a giant green shamrock, passers-by are being encouraged to stop and ‘press the Green Button’ and activate the screen. The digital screen then comes to life, playing an inspirational video with traditional Irish music – giving people a sense of what they can expect on a vacation to Ireland. News about this Green Button digital display was featured on Salut Bonjour, one of Montreal’s top morning TV shows, with over 278,000 viewers.
The campaign is set to deliver an estimated 1.32 million impressions (opportunities to see) across the city of Montreal.
Sandra Moffatt, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Canada, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Air Canada for our new Green Button outdoor campaign, reaching commuters around the city of Montreal who’re considering where to go for their autumn or winter vacation. Our aim is to highlight the Air Canada flight from Montreal to Dublin, reminding travellers that Ireland is ‘closer than you think’. Our message is that Ireland is open for business again and we cannot wait to roll out the green carpet and welcome back visitors from Canada.”
