There is a sense of growing optimism in the tourism and hospitality sector across the island of Ireland, as almost all COVID-19 restrictions have now been lifted.
While the global travel and tourism industry continues to experience the ongoing impact of the pandemic, confidence is returning as international borders re-open and vaccination rates are high in most key overseas markets. Global tourism sources are expecting a more positive performance for tourism this summer, with Q1 2022 already showing an uplift in travel and a release of pent-up demand.
Tourism Ireland’s ‘Green Button’ campaign is going live in all key markets, with the message that the island of Ireland is open for business and welcoming visitors.
We are working closely with our overseas tourism partners, as well as industry from across the island of Ireland, to stimulate demand, capture early bookings and rebuild tourism to Ireland, for the long-term sustainable future of our industry.
