‘Teeing up’ Ireland at Dubai Desert Classic

Tourism Ireland is attending the Dubai Desert Classic this week, to promote our world-class golf

The Dubai Desert Classic – taking place at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai – is one of the biggest events on the DP World Tour. It attracts top players, thousands of spectators and international golf journalists each year – providing a fantastic platform to showcase golf holidays in Ireland. Tourism Ireland’s key messages include major upcoming events – including the DDF Irish Open at Mount Juliet this summer, the return of The Open to Royal Portrush in 2025 and the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in 2027. As we begin to restart and rebuild our overseas tourism business, promoting golf holidays in Ireland will be a focus for Tourism Ireland in the UAE, and in other key markets around the world.

Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Asia and Middle East, said: “Our presence at this year’s Dubai Desert Classic is an excellent opportunity to remind golfers that Ireland offers some of the very best golf in the world, as well as spectacular scenery and fantastic experiences. We’re also taking every opportunity to highlight the DDF Irish Open at Mount Juliet this summer and the fact that The Open will return to Royal Portrush in 2025 and the Ryder Cup will take place at Adare Manor in 2027. Once again, Tourism Ireland will be pulling out all the stops to leverage the tourism potential of these prestigious sporting events, in the UAE and in our other important golf markets.”
