‘Drive’ to grow golf tourism in Abu Dhabi

Tourism Ireland attends HSBC Championship

Tourism Ireland is attending the HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi this week, promoting our world-class golf at this important event in the golfing calendar.

One of the DP World Tour’s biggest competitions, the HSBC Championship attracts top players, thousands of spectators and international journalists each year – providing a fantastic platform to showcase golf holidays in Ireland. Key messages include major upcoming events, including the DDF Irish Open at Mount Juliet this summer, the return of The Open to Royal Portrush in 2025 and the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor in 2027.

Aisling McDermott, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Asia and Middle East, said: “Our presence at this year’s HSBC Championship in Abu Dhabi is an excellent opportunity to remind golfers that Ireland offers some of the very best golf in the world, as well as spectacular scenery and fantastic experiences. We’re also taking every opportunity to highlight the DDF Irish Open at Mount Juliet this summer and the fact that The Open will return to Royal Portrush in 2025 and the Ryder Cup will take place at Adare Manor in 2027. Tourism Ireland will be pulling out all the stops to leverage the tourism potential of these prestigious sporting events in our important golf markets.”
