The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and outgoing, be an excellent communicator, be flexible and most importantly, be a friendly and cooperative person that enjoys working within a busy team. Previous coffee experience and catering/ hospitality experience is essential. The position also involves other retail duties with plenty of customer interaction.
Summary of key activities
- Crafting great coffee, ensuring that espresso shots and milk are prepared to a consistently high standard
- Keeping the work area clean, tidy and well stocked
- Maintain a calm demeanor in this fast-paced environment whilst working cohesively with your team and creating a positive, fun and efficient environment.
- Taking pride in delivering a first class service.
- Effectively controlling the flow of customers and orders throughout service.
- Dealing with any customer queries in an appropriate manner.
- Responsibility for accurate management of all transactions during service.
- Prepare and assist with food preparation.
- Ensure the regular and systematic cleaning of the coffee machine and equipment, ensuring that hygiene and food safety standards are adhered to.
- Place product orders with agreed suppliers on a daily / weekly basis.
- To adhere to specifications, standards and procedures while at work
Experience and skills
- Existing experience working in a fast-paced hospitality environment as a barista
- Good presentation and attention to detail
- Clean and organised
- Excellent customer service
- Passion and a real interest in quality coffee
- Fluent in English
