Summer’s Coming & the Bags are packed for a Special Cork Experience!

With some Luxury Packages from The Montenotte Hotel

At last!  We can actually dust off our suitcases, plan our holiday wardrobes and plan our most perfect staycation. It’s been a long time coming and summer is finally here. For most of us as we plan this very special staycation, it’s like we are being left out of school early, with “permission” to enjoy the precious freedom to soak up as many special experiences as possible that a break away can offer.

As a first venture out, The Montenotte Hotel awaits as the perfect haven from which to experience Cork, the city and the region with it’s enticing facilities including sloping manicured gardens with panoramic views of the harbour, that are only matched by the views on the Panorama Terrace and Restaurant.

There is also the in-house cinema “Cameo”, where you can sip your favourite cocktail while enjoying the silver screen; the award winning “Bellevue Spa” where talented beauty therapists await,  the 20 meter swimming pool for the energetic, the boutique rooms and executive rooms with their comfortable facilities and as it’s a hotel with lots of personality, it’s the attention to detail and the award winning service from The Montenotte team – from kerb to bedside that will have people flocking to Cork as soon as they can.

The Montenotte is a hotel with an enviable heritage dating back to the 1860’s, when this special building, full of character was home to the Merchant Princes of Cork who from the house had prime views of their incoming ships; to other princes of a more recent era, rock band U2, who used the hotel for their iconic rooftop photoshoot back in 1980.

But one of the biggest draws is that this very special hotel embraces everything that is special about Cork and from Wednesday 2nd June the team at the hotel will be welcoming friends old and new through their doors with (virtual) open arms!

Brian Bowler, General Manager of The Montenotte, who is busy preparing for this very special opening date, stated

“This year, precious holidays have taken on even greater importance and it’s a privilege for us to be welcoming our guests back once more. The past year has been challenging for everyone, but throughout everything, all of our team made a point to stay connected to each other and to our friends and customers  – even if it had to be virtual most of the time. We used this time to talk to our customers and see what they would like from us when things reopened.  On the back of this feedback we have developed a number of really special packages, that will create memorable experiences, for those who are looking for adventure or for romance or those who merely want to relax and be pampered with a well deserved and long awaited break.”

The Montenotte’s “Ultimate Luxury Getaway” is their jewel in the crown this summer. It’s a three night, truly extraordinary romantic break, where you don’t even have to set foot out of the hotel’s extensive grounds if you so wish. The experience starts with a bottle of chilled bubbly to welcome you to your room, reserved dining on two of the evenings in the Panorama Bistro where you can watch the sunset over the harbour. There’s also a gin cocktail making class made with the Montenotte’s own limited edition Botanical Gin, and a rejuvenating spa treatment. On an evening of your choice guests are free to explore the city, perhaps taking a walk along the quays or on the many bridges of Cork or venturing further afield to explore the nearby coast or countryside. There is so much to discover.  A particular favourite of guests is a stroll along the quays, a visit to the riverside gardens in Fitzgerald Park, a walk over the famous “shakey” bridge or venturing further afield across the bay to Blackrock Castle. To complete the stay, you can enjoy a personal training session in Motion Health Club along with a self-guided tour of the museum at Nano Nagle Place with an ambassador offering background information before the start. A true “pure Cork” breakaway.

As with all the Montenotte’s packages, there is complete flexibility with cancellation policies and the hotel provides the safest of locations, adhering to all health guidelines with no compromise on quality of service or welcome.

For anyone who caught the gardening bug in the past year The Montenotte’s “Green Fingers Getaway” includes a tour of the stunning tiered Victorian Gardens with the hotel’s Head Gardener, Miguel which is part of a specially themed one night break.

The Montenotte have a range of other luxury and relaxing one night stays, ideal for couples, perhaps groups of friends who would like to reconnect in the lap of luxury, or even for anyone looking for some quality long awaited mother and daughter bonding.  Lucky guests can choose from a “Luxury Spa Break” which includes your choice of treatments in the award winning Bellevue Spa – Lavender & Sandalwood Serenity Massage, a customised Dermaviduals Facial or a Rosemary & Blackpepper Deep Tissue Massage.

Or for any whiskey lovers there is the “Jameson Distillery Experience” which includes a special visit to the world famous Jameson Whiskey Distillery in Midleton, which includes comparative whiskey tasting and a complimentary Jameson signature drink. With the distillery a short 20 minute drive away or a similar journey by train, you will return from your journey to Midleton in time to enjoy the Cork harbour sunset on the Panorama Terrace – and if you chose to dine in the hotel that evening, perhaps you will be  inspired by your day’s adventure to order a pre dinner Whiskey cocktail specially prepared for you by The Montenotte’s mixologist.
