Step into the Worlds of Bridgerton and the Oscars at Dining & Drink Events at Savour Kilkenny Food Festival
The highly anticipated Savour Kilkenny is just around the corner, and the October bank holiday weekend is packed with culinary events you won’t want to miss.
Starting on October 24th, there are 20 exciting food and drink events that are sure to whet your appetite. They include a Bridgerton themed event at Lyrath Estate. The event promises a night of glamour and sophistication, beginning with a canapés and bubbles reception in the opulent drawing rooms, and a sumptuous five-course dinner with wine.

Mountain View will present “A Taste of the Oscars”, featuring a luxurious five-course tasting menu inspired by Hollywood’s finest, accompanied by live music and dancing. Transportation to and from Mountain View will be available. Enjoy a special evening at the award-winning Hound Restaurant on the historic Mount Juliet Estate with Executive Chef Andy Nolan and special guest chef Kwanghi Chan collaborating on a once off menu.
Rory O’Connell, co-founder of the Ballymaloe Cookery School, will team up with former students and Ballymaloe House’s head pastry chef, JR Ryall, for a delightful and sociable evening in the heart of Kilkenny city.
The night will start with oysters and Guinness at The Back Room on John Street, followed by a five-course set menu with wine at the Medieval Mile Museum. Notable Ballymaloe alumni participating include Tracie Daly, Sinead Foyle of The Seahare, Aidan Ryan of Tribe and Bettystown House, Colm Keane of Daddy’s, JR Ryall, and Laura and Rory Gannon of Cakeface Café Roastery & Cookery School.
“Dine and Dance” with Brian Redmond, a judge from “Dancing with the Stars,” will return to the Hibernian Hotel at the newly opened Ember Restaurant. This entertaining evening offers guests the chance to learn to dance with Brian and Kate from The Dance Club Kilkenny while enjoying culinary creations by Chef Wesley Bearpark, inspired by the South African Braai grill.
Other exciting events include “Chef’s Night Out” at Arán with guest chef Ian Doyle, “Sip & Savour @ Paris Texas,” featuring a six-course menu of premium seafood and locally sourced meats paired with wine, and “The Musicians Table” at Petronella, where guests will be serenaded by an Irish musician. Additionally, “Lady Eleanor Afternoon Tea” will take place at Butler House, a “Global Kitchen Lunch” hosted by Kilkenny Leader Partnership, and Statham’s Supper Club with Chef Ken Harker and Ballymaloe’s Rachel Allen, offering a delightful five-course meal, a welcome drink and a Coole Swan after dinner digestif cocktail.
When it comes to drink events, offerings include the outdoor event “All Roads Lead to Rhône” – a wine and cheese pairing with wine expert Pat Smith and The Wild Grazer, “Kyteler’s Inn Whiskey Tasting” with Walsh Distillery and JD Flynn, “Beats, Bites, and Bubbles,” “Viva España,” and “Whiskey Wars,” all hosted by the Wine Centre at Sullivan’s Taproom Secret Garden, along with the “Special Savour Session” at the Smithwick’s Experience Barrel Yard with live music by Burnchurch.
