Further success for hotel group’s HR team at Leadership and Management Awards and Investors in Diversity
Trigon Hotels is celebrating successes at three prestigious awards recognising the forward-thinking and dedication of its HR team and management.
Trigon, which includes The Metropole Hotel and Cork International Hotel, achieved bronze in Investors in Diversity which reviews an organisation’s policies and the ways in which it ensures that team members understand diversity and inclusion.
Strategic Director of HR at Trigon Hotels, Kathleen Linehan said; “We have spent months reviewing and rewriting our handbook, developing and implementing new policies which were more inclusive to include our gender identity policy, menopause policy to name a few. We ensure there is equal pay and representation of women in senior leadership positions, and we are continuously providing inclusive training opportunities to all of our teams to support their professional development and personal well-being. We have a firm foundation in place and are committed to maintaining a supportive culture and diverse workforce”.
The group introduced a new menopause policy last July and supported the launch with menopause training for senior team members. This policy was recognised at the first ever Menopause Workplace of Excellence Awards which celebrate organisations committed to creating supportive environments for women experiencing menopause.
Strategic Director of HR at Trigon Hotels, Kathleen Linehan said; “We strive to create a positive working environment for all our team members and it is important to us that their needs are met in the best way possible. Our menopause policy has been warmly welcomed across the two hotels and senior team members have been really engaging with the training. Menopause can have a very adverse effect on so many women and I am delighted that people are more open to talking about the impact the symptoms can have on women and their performance in the workplace.”
The Menopause Workplace Excellence Awards is a partnership between The Menopause Hub and Great Place to Work. The judging panel included Menopause Hub founder and CEO Loretta Dignam, Great Place to Work CEO Cathal Divilliy, Assistant Secretary General at the Department of Agriculture Denise Kennedy and consultant gynaecologist at Beaumont and Rotunda hospitals and Medical Director at The Menopause Hub Dr Conor Harrity.
The HR team at Trigon Hotels was also announced as winners in the “Best Workplace Diversity Strategy” category at the recent HR Leadership and Management Awards.
Trigon Hotels is extremely committed to the diversity, wellbeing and sustainability of its team, company, and industry. This is one of the reasons the group was successful in winning the award.
Kathleen Linehan said: “This year’s award was very special to us, having worked so hard on our inclusive practices. We are incredibly proud of all our team members in all our properties and delighted to celebrate this award with them. Our people are the core of our company and the heart of everything we do. We are passionate in promoting the Irish tourism and hospitality industry as a work environment. Our HR team along with the wider company are committed to our people, supporting our communities, improving team engagement, and creating a positive culture that fosters the advancement of our diverse teams both personally and professionally.”
