Trips To Ireland Increased By 3.4% In June 2018

In June 2018, the total number of trips to Ireland by overseas residents increased by 3.4% to 1,026,400 - an overall increase of 33,700 compared to twelve months earlier. 

 

Trips by residents of Great Britain increased by 1.9% to 315,300 while trips by residents of European Countries other than Great Britain (Other Europe) increased by 2.7% to 366,300.  Trips by residents of USA and Canada to Ireland increased by 6.3% to 275,900 while trips to Ireland from Other Areas increased by 2.8% to 69,000. The total number of overseas trips made by Irish residents during June 2018 increased by 9.5% to 878,500.  

 

 

 

The total number of trips (Irish residents’ trips overseas plus trips to Ireland) in June 2018 increased by 6.1% to 1,904,900 when compared to twelve months earlier.  

 

In the six months to the end of June 2018, the total number of trips to Ireland increased by 6.7% when compared with the same period in 2017.  Irish residents' trips overseas during the same period increased by 4.3%.
