Tourism Event In House Of Lords Kicks Off Programme Of St Patrick’s 2020 Celebrations
Kicking off an extensive programme of St Patrick’s celebrations around the world, Tourism Ireland co-sponsored a special reception in the House of Lords in London today. The event, celebrating British-Irish relations, was attended by members of the House of Lords and House of Commons, as well as leaders of the Irish community living in London, influential travel trade, business tourism and media contacts.
PIC SHOWS: The Right Honourable The Lord Dubs; HE Adrian O Neill, Irish Ambassador to the UK; and Mark Henry, Tourism Ireland, at the St Patrick’s reception in the House of Lords in London co-sponsored by Tourism Ireland.
Today’s event in the House of Lords marks the start of Tourism Ireland’s St Patrick’s 2020 programme – which will span Great Britain, Mainland Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand, as well as emerging tourism markets like the Middle East. Over the coming days, hundreds of iconic landmarks and sites around the world will be illuminated in green – as part of Tourism Ireland’s 2020 Global Greening initiative to celebrate the island of Ireland and St Patrick. From Sydney to San Francisco and from Brussels to Buenos Aires, a host of buildings and sites around the world will be turning a shade of green to celebrate our national day.
