Covid-19 - Guest Room Door Access and Guest Communications

A hot topic currently sweeping through the hotel industry, is room access and how to make it safer for the guest, in light of what is currently happening throughout the world.

As such, companies such as VDA are thus promoting access to the guest room using a mobile phone.

This of course is not a new concept, but clearly has come to prominence lately, and for obvious reasons.

The advantage with VDA’s door access system, is that the guest does not need to actually touch the door handle, the door being released through an electric strike release unit, the guest only needing to push against the door (for example, with their arm).

One other request that we are now receiving, is how to communicate with the guest in a more expedient manner.

With VDA’s ONAIR Interactive TV system, the guest can view their bill and check out [HL1] without having to wait in line at reception. The hotel can also offer room ordering for in room dining, or for example additional pillows, and allow the guest to communicate with the different departments of the hotel.

Of course, this is just a few examples of the advantages of the VDA solutions, with many more features available, including our “easy to sanitise” Glass Switches and controls incorporated into them.
