Bewley’s Wish To Hold Thy Attention, And Step Thou Back In Time To The Year Of 1840

Today, Ireland’s leading coffee and tea company, Bewley’s has launched a special limited-edition Christmas Coffee Blend to mark 180 years in business. Coffee lovers can create some Christmas cheer with this speciality hand-roasted single-origin Honduras blend, complete with traditional coffee flavours such as toffee, tangerines and cacao nibs along with aromas of almonds, caramel and biscuits. The 100% Fairtrade coffee will be available in both whole bean and freshly ground variations, for just €7.99 on www.shop.Bewleys.com from Friday 20th November.

In addition to the new Christmas blend, Bewley’s will also be running an online offer on selected blends of tea and coffee. Coffee enthusiasts can avail of a selection of five of their favourite Fairtrade roasts and blends, including Gold and Rich Roast, as well as Kenya, Java and Brazil coffee. Tea lovers can enjoy a selection of five Bewley’s teas including Dublin Morning, Irish Breakfast, Irish Afternoon, Special Blend and Gold Blend. Both the 1840 Tea and 1840 Coffee collections will be available on the Bewley’s online shop for just €18.40 each.

With the launch of the limited-edition product and promotional offers to commemorate the milestone achievement, Bewley’s is also taking a step back in time and reimagining 1840s Ireland, through a social media and website takeover. Bewley’s will be showcasing a host of 1840s-inspired social adverts, stock imagery from the Bewley’s archives and information about the history of the company.

The Bewley’s brand was the first to introduce tea to Ireland in the early 1800s, led the charge and became the first company to introduce Fairtrade products to Ireland and more recently in 2009 becoming the first certified Carbon Neutral coffee company in Ireland.

Commenting on this company milestone, Managing Director of Bewley’s Ireland & UK, Jason Doyle said, “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and we have been loyally serving them since Bewley’s was established in 1840. This is a significant milestone for us, and one of many over the past 180 years. We were the first to introduce tea to Ireland, became the first company to offer Fairtrade products and the first certified Carbon Neutral Coffee Company in Ireland. We also run one of the country’s longest charity partnerships with Hospice Coffee Morning together with Bewley’s which has raised nearly €40 million over the past 39 years.

We’re delighted to mark this anniversary by offering customers something special with the limited-edition Christmas Coffee blend, along with embracing the 1840s with some great deals on our most popular coffee and tea blends.”

Bewley’s Christmas Coffee blend is available for a limited time from Friday 20th of November
