Olé For Top Employees At iNua Collection!
Always focused on staff development and team morale, senior management from The iNua Collection hosted a summer celebration lunch at Dax Restaurant in Dublin yesterday to honour a number of Employees of the Year working across the group. The lunch — hosted by Sean O’Driscoll, Chief Operating Officer, Deirdre Buckley, Group HR Director and Brenda Murphy, Group Director of Sales & Marketing, along with the General Managers who work with each of the winners — was the first element of a two part prize, with the second being a trip to Barcelona for each of the deserving winners.
Choosing iNua Employees of the Year every year is a tough task, with the relevant General Manager in each hotel property filling in evaluation forms at the start of the following year, listing and ranking a number of essential attributes including a “can do” attitude, guest feedback and peer nominations to decide employee of the month. Winning the Employee of the Year accolade from the Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel was Sous Chef, Maros Vranec. Maros, who has worked at the property for 8 years, was selected following a review of the full criteria for the award and in particular for his personal contribution to the kitchen during a period of transition as the Head of Department changed. General Manager of the The Kilkenny Hibernian Hotel, James Gleeson noted that Maros “really stepped up to the plate and went the extra mile while supporting the wider kitchen and F&B team.” Mickey Duffy, Assistant Bar Manager at The Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan was awarded Employee of The Year by General Manager, Martin Daly for his “continuous contribution to the hotel in delivering excellence in both customer and staff care.” Martin also noted that Mickey, who has worked at The Hillgrove Hotel since 2012, went over and above in his daily role, was a real team player and his attendance and presentation were also commended.
From Muckross Park Hotel & Spa in Killarney, Porter, Fergus Cameron won Employee of the Year for his dedication to his role and the wider team. It was noted by General Manager, Frits Potgieter that Fergus “steps up to the plate on a regular basis and is consistently exceeding guests expectations” Fergus has won Employee of The Month twice by his peers and another deciding factor was the number of comment cards and guest feedback all referencing Fergus and his exemplary service. Debbie Foley was voted Employee of the Year at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Limerick having recently been promoted to Front Office Supervisor. General Manager at the property, Brian Harrington said, “Debbie’s performance has been consistent since she started with us just over a year ago. She came highly recommended to us from the manager at the Hospitality Education & Training Centre in Roxboro. Debbie has great potential and thoroughly deserves this award.” Assistant Front Office Manager at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Cork, Emmanuel Bassey will be celebrating his win in Barcelona for his proactivity and positivity. General Manager, Shane Fitzpatrick noted, “Emmanuel always goes above and beyond, using his own initiative and always putting the guest first. He takes on new duties with enthusiasm and many guests comment on his positive “can do” attitude.” Arif Oruc, who works as a Senior Restaurant Waiter at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Sligo will also be travelling to Barcelona as he scored high marks for outstanding customer care, his reliability and flexibility in his busy role in the F&B Department. General Manager at Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Sligo, Seamus Preston said, “Arif is a great member of the F&B team and the wider team here at the hotel. He is very popular among his peers and guests alike.” Ollie Hughes has been Conference Supervisor for the past 5 years at Tullamore Court Hotel in Offaly and was selected as a deserving winner by General Manager, Philip O’Brien for his “commitment to delivering exceptional and memorable experiences to our guests. He is also a great ambassador to younger team members and his encouragement and relaxed approach make him an engaging and reassuring presence for junior members of the team.” Speaking at the celebratory lunch, Sean O’Driscoll, Chief Operating Officer of iNua Collection said, “It’s fantastic to see such a high calibre of employee within iNua Collection.
