Rebel Chilli Releases Second Edition Of Barrel Aged Hot Sauce Using West Cork Distillers’ Casks


Rebel Chilli is releasing the second edition of their award-winning Barrel Aged Hot Sauce. This edition has been aged in Irish whiskey casks sourced from West Cork Distillers in Skibbereen.

The product, which aged for 62 days, is a specially made hot sauce recipe, and won a gold star at last year’s Great Taste Awards. Paul Moore, Managing Director, is delighted to be working in conjunction with West Cork Distillers on this edition. “It’s great that we were able to source the barrels so close to home, and I think it makes the product even more unique”, Moore says.

According to Moore, this edition will be even better than the first. “We’ve learnt from our first experience with the barrels, and have tweaked the recipe slightly, so the result is a slightly hotter, sweeter and stronger whiskey flavour”, he says.

Moore says that they will get 3,000 bottles from this round. They have plans to release a special edition down the line, where the product is aged for 6 months. The product will be available for retail and foodservice and will be launched at Bloom 2019, taking place next week in the Phoenix Park. The product will be listed in select Supervalu’s and independent outlets.
