Italian travel agents say ‘Ciao’ to Ireland
One of Italy’s leading tour operators, Cocktail Viaggi, together with 14 of its top-producing travel agents, has been visiting Ireland – as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland.
The group was here on a fact-finding visit, to sample at first-hand the superb experiences on offer here for Italian holidaymakers. The aim of the visit was to familiarise the travel agents with the island of Ireland, so that when they return home they will be even better informed to advise their clients when planning and booking their holidays. One of the highlights of their visit was a guided tour of Slane Distillery.
Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland’s Manager Italy, “Tourism Ireland was delighted to invite this group from Cocktail Viaggi to visit Ireland. Italy is an important market for tourism to Ireland, with CSO figures for 2018 indicating around 409,100 Italian arrivals, an increase of +12.6% on 2017. Fact-finding visits like these are really important, as the travel professionals get to experience for themselves the high standard of our tourism experiences and the many things to see and do here. Our aim is to really enthuse them about the destination, to ensure they are better equipped to advise their clients when planning and booking their holidays.”
