The Grenke Sponsored, Galway Branch IHF Employee Of The Year 2019, Shortlist Is Announced
Galway Branch IHF Employee of the Year 2019, shortlist has been announced ahead of the forthcoming annual Hospitality Industry Ball in the Galmont Hotel and Spa on February 4th next.Grenke, Ireland’s award winning, leasing and Invoice Finance providers will sponsor the much coveted 2019 Galway Branch IHF Employee of the Year award. Six contestants from across Galway City and County’s growing hotel sector will compete for the much coveted 2019 award, who will then go on to compete in the National Irish Hotels Federation Employee of the Year award which will be announced at the IHF National Conference in March 2019.
Nominated by their respective employers, candidates were involved in a rigorous interview process which was conducted independently by the GMIT’s Galway International Hotel School Lecturer, John Carty and Galway Executive Skillnet’s Network Manager, Carl Blake.
The Nominees selected for the 2019 Final are: Eimear O’Brien Front Office Manager, The g Hotel and Spa Hannah Creaven Food and Beverage Assistant, The Clayton Hotel, Galway. Grenke’s Branch Manager, Orlagh O Connor, will present this year’s award at the glittering Galway Hospitality Ball in the Galmont Hotel and Spa which will be attended by 250 of the industry’s key players, business owners, hoteliers, publicans, restauratuers and hospitality operators and educators from across Galway City and County. National President of the Irish Hotels Federation, Michael Lennon and the organisations CEO Tim Fenn will also be in attendance, along with many public representatives and sponsors.

We have some fantastic people working in the industry in our region and acknowledging their contribution should be a priority for all of us.”
Organised by the local, Galway IHF Branch in association with Galway branches of the Restaurant’s Association of Ireland, Vintners Association and SKAL International, this year’s ball will also honour John Crumlish, CEO of the Galway International Arts Festival for his significant contribution to Galway’s hospitality industry.
Commencing at 7pm with a stylish Drinks Reception which will followed by a stunning banquet meal created by Chef’s from Galway’s Hotel’s and Restaurants who’ve contributed hugely to the celebration of European Region of Gastronomy. The 2019 Ball will also act as a closing event to Galway as European Region of Gastronomy which recognises the superb contribution of food producers, farmers and chefs to Galway’s food tourism sector.
